Oath and Oblivion – The Warriors of Dharma: A Poetic Retelling of Mahabharata’s Unsung Heroes

New Delhi [India], September 18: BlueRose Publishers proudly presents Oath and Oblivion – The Warriors of Dharma by Dr. Tushar Dubey, a Baltimore-based scientist and poet whose heart remains deeply rooted in Indian culture and tradition.

Born in Indore to a middle-class family, Dubey grew up immersed in the stories of the Mahabharata and Ramayana, nurtured by his grandmother’s wisdom and storytelling. Though his professional journey led him to pursue a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and dedicate his career to Alzheimer’s disease research in the United States, his soul found its true expression in poetry. For him, writing is not merely a creative pursuit but a way of staying connected to his heritage.

In Oath and Oblivion, Dubey turns to two of the Mahabharata’s most profound yet often misunderstood warriors — Karna and Bhishma. Bound by vows, torn by destiny, and tested by dharma, their lives embody resilience, sacrifice, and silent suffering. Through powerful verses and philosophical reflection, the book explores their emotional battles, moral dilemmas, and unyielding devotion to honor.

“Bhishma and Karna have always fascinated me. Their courage and integrity, despite being on opposing sides, hold timeless lessons,” Dubey shares“I wanted today’s youth to rediscover these warriors and reflect on their choices, struggles, and strength.”

Beyond writing, Dubey continues his mission of service through science, striving to advance understanding of neurodegenerative diseases and improve human lives. Looking ahead, he hopes to expand his literary journey by retelling the lives of other Mahabharata characters through a modern lens, bridging mythology with contemporary challenges.

A heartfelt invitation extends from Dubey to aspiring writers: to delve into the treasure troves of ancient Indian literature and reinterpret them for the present day. “Our epics are more than stories — they are living philosophies,” he affirms.
